Waterfront Research & Development

Transforming the Chadakoin Riverfront is a fundamental initiative of the Urban Design Plan. The Jamestown Renaissance Corporation is poised to become the champion of this cause. It has captured opportunities to partner with the Gebbie Foundation and the City of Jamestown and will continue to do so while charged with implementing the UDP.

Most recently, the JRC signed a lease agreement with a waterfront property owner and developed a River Park along the newest addition to the City of Jamestown's riverwalk. This node is set to become a haven for both pedestrian and programmatic activity.

In addition to identifying and completing development projects along the river, the JRC will play a visible role in shaping the city's Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan. Executive Director Jason Stronz will co-chair the City of Jamestown Waterfront Advisory Committee, a community-driven group charged with guiding the work of planning consultants.
